Fond du Lac police detectives executing a search warrant in a burglary case may have helped save a man’s life in an unrelated drug overdose incident over the weekend. Fond du Lac police were investigating a burglary Sunday afternoon on Rees Street when an unrelated medical incident occurred at a nearby residence on Ledgeview Avenue. Police entered the apartment and immediately arrested a 38 year old Allenton man. Police detectives began life saving measures on a 54 year old Allenton man until paramedics arrived. The man was transported to the hospital where he was treated and then arrested and transported to the Fond du Lac County Jail.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
