3-17-23 dodge county sheriff’s office accreditation

The Dodge County Sheriff's Office is seeking approval for accreditation status.  Sheriff Dale Schmidt says on March 21st the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation Group will examine the Sheriff's Office policies, procedures, management, operation and support service.  Schmidt says accreditation shows the office is doing things the right way.  As part of the on-site assessment, the public can comment at an information session March 22nd at the Dodge County Sheriff's Office.

3-16-23 wisconsin man pleads guilty to role in whitmer kidnap scheme

BELLAIRE, Mich. (AP) — A Wisconsin man who was accused of a secondary role in a plot to kidnap Michigan’s governor has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge. Brian Higgins said Wednesday that he attempted to provide material support for terrorism when he drove past Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's vacation home. 3-16-23 local unemployment rate jumps in january

The local unemployment rate is up in the latest reporting period.  The city of Fond du Lac's unemployment rate in January was 2.6 percent, up from 2.2 in December.   Fond du Lac County's jobless rate jumped half a percent to 2.3 percent and the Dodge County rate increased six-tenths of a percent to 2.5 percent.
