3-7-23 wisconsin substance centers owes $2m in medicaid fraud case

MILWAUKEE (AP) — A now-shuttered Wisconsin substance abuse center and its CEO owe the government more than $2 million in a Medicaid fraud case. The  U.S. Department of Justice sued Brookfield-based The Healing Center LLC and CEO and sole practitioner Dr. Siamak Arassi in 2019. According to the lawsuit, Arassi ordered prescriptions for the anti-addiction drug Vivitrol in the names of former patients and collected Medicaid reimbursements for the expenses. […]

3-7-23 fdl police investigating report of gunshots fired in city

Fond du Lac police are investigating a report of gunshots fired in the city.  The incident happened shortly before 11:30pm Friday in the area of  West Follett and Doty Streets.  When officers arrived on the scene they were unable to locate any potential witnesses.  The following morning police discovered a detached garage in the 200 block of Doty Street had been struck by bullets.  No injuries have been reported.  Anyone with information is asked to […]

3-6-23 fatal crash-fdl county

A Campbellsport woman was killed in a one vehicle crash in Fond du Lac County.  The crash happened shortly before 4pm Sunday on County Road S north of Earl Court  in the town of Auburn. A northbound car left the road striking a culvert.  The driver, a 68 year old Campbellsport woman,  was flown by helicopter to Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee where she was pronounced dead.
