4-7-23 fdl man charged with threatening to shoot up a school

Bail has been set a $1 million cash for a Fond du Lac man accused of making threats to shoot at a school.   Darrell T. Scott is charged with Terrorist Threats – Use of a Dangerous Weapon and misdemeanor violations.   The charges stem from an April 3, 2023 arrest for an OWI 3^rd violation.   According to a criminal complaint Scott made repeated statements that once released from custody he would buy an assault rifle to shoot up a school, saying he thinks about it daily.  No specific a target was mentioned.  District Attorney Toney stated “Anyone that threatens to commit a school shooting and threaten the lives of students and educators will be aggressively prosecuted in our community. Parents must have confidence that when they send their children to school that they will come home safely and teachers must feel safe while educating children in our community.”
