4-7-23 over the counter narcan

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved selling overdose antidote Narcan over the counter, marking the first time an opioid treatment drug will be available without a prescription.   Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says how much this will impact a nationwide overdose crisis is not clear, and the price is not clear.  For many people who use drugs, Narcan is already available from community groups,  and that’s not expected to change.
