NECEDAH, Wis. (AP) — A wildfire has led to evacuations in Juneau County. Authorities say the fire began in Necedah, about 90 miles north of Madison, and had spread to roughly 100 acres. The Department of Natural Resources says “several structures were in the fire’s path.” No injuries were reported. Warm temperatures, low humidity and windy conditions have combined to raise fire danger in parts of Wisconsin. Helicopters made several drops to contain the fire.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
