The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash in Dodge County. According to the Sheriff’s Office 58 year old James Jansen of Beaver Dam was killed Friday evening when a Volvo Pay Loader pulled from a driveway onto state Highway 33 near Noble Road into the path of Jansen’s motorcycle. Jansen was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck, a 74 year old Horicon man, was not injured.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
