4-17-23 fdl police officers convince suicidal woman to surrender peacefully

Fond du Lac Police Officers are credited with helping prevent a Fond du Lac woman from carrying out a suicide threat over the weekend.  Shortly before 11:30pm Sunday police were called to Lakeside Park for a report of a woman armed with a knife threatening suicide.  Police located the woman on a bridge in the park who was armed with a knife and telling officers to kill her.  After making pleas for the woman to drop the knife  less  than lethal impact munitions were deployed but were not immediately effective in disarming her.  As negotiations continued the woman eventually dropped the knife and was taken into protective custody and transported to St. Agnes Hospital.   The 46-year old Fond du Lac woman was placed on an emergency detention.
