Following a lengthy investigation an arrest has been made in connection with intentionally set wildfires in Fond du Lac County dating back nearly two decades. Using fire forensic science, covert surveillance and multiple interviews investigators identified a 40 year old Eden man as a suspect. The suspect admitted to setting several fires, burning more than 60 acres of land dating back for nearly 20 years. Charges of Arson and Intentionally Setting Fire to land have been referred to the District Attorney in Fond du Lac and Washington Counties.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
