The Fond du Lac city council is under new leadership. At the council’s organizational meeting Tuesday night Keith Heisler was elected council president. Heisler replaces Patrick Mullen in the leadership role. The council elected Tiffany Brault as council vice president. Brault, Mullen and Heisler were all re-elected after running unopposed in the April 4th election.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
