The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office says it’s likely an Eden woman died from a medical condition before her car crashed into a tree. Sheriff’s captain Bill Tadych says 50 year old Tracy Alm of Eden was pronounced dead at the scene Tuesday morning on Highway B near the village of Eden. Tadych says witnesses reported seeing the driver slumped over the steering wheel as her car drifted across the opposite lane of traffic, entered a ditch and struck a tree. Tadych says a preliminary investigation indicates that Alm may have suffered a medical condition prior to the crash. He says it’s fortunate there were no vehicles coming in the opposite direction.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
