Across the nation, scammers target the elderly in fraudulent schemes. One such scam, the grandparent scam, occurs when victims are told that a grandchild is under arrest and needs bail money. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Supreme Court has ruled that a constitutional amendment expanding crime victims' rights was properly worded in a statewide referendum and was legally adopted. Voters ratified the amendment in April 2020. The Wisconsin Justice Initiative sued, arguing that the amendment's scope wasn't fully described on ballots. MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A man convicted of killing four passengers in his Mercedes Benz SUV in Minnesota and dumping the bodies in a Wisconsin cornfield has been sentenced to 103 years in prison.
