The local unemployment rate continues to fall. The city of Fond du Lac's jopless rate was down a tenth of a percent to 2.3 percent. In Fond du Lac County the unemployment rate dropped from 2.1 to 1.9 percent. The unemployment rate fell from 2.2 percent to 1.8 percent last month in Dodge County.
Two area companies are among ten Wisconsin companies to receive a state Department of Ag, Trade and Consumer Protection Buy Local, Buy Wisconsin grant. Park Ridge Organics in Fond du Lac will use the grant to improve product branding, enhance the farm store customer shopping experience and launch new wholesale prepackaged product options. Graves Family Orchard in Brownsville is developing systems to more efficiently prepare, harvest and sell fruit.
Nobody was injured and Fond du Lac police are investigating after receiving reports of gunshots fired. Shortly after 9pm Tuesday police officers responded to the area of South Main Street and East Pioneer Road for a report of gunshots. Police were unable to locate any witnesses or property damage.
