6-16-23 fdl coffee shop fire

A restroom ceiling fan is to blame for a fire that damaged a Fond du Lac coffee shop.  Shortly before 8:30am Thursday firefighters were called to The Uba Brews, Blends and Bites coffee shop on South Main Street quickly extinguished the fire before it could spread to the attic.  The fire started in the motor of the bathroom vent fan and spread to some combustibles in the restroom.   Nobody was injured.

WATERTOWN, Wis. (AP) — Authorities say at least one person has died after a small plane crashed shortly after takeoff in southern Wisconsin. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin Republicans are moving to increase registration fees for electric vehicles. The transportation funding plan passed by the GOP-controlled Legislature's finance committee on Tuesday would raise fees to $175 a year, up from $100. 6-15-23 cancer centers report growing shortage of common treatments

U.S. cancer centers say a growing shortage of common treatments is forcing doctors to switch medications and delaying some care. The National Comprehensive Cancer Network says that nearly all of the centers it surveyed late last month were dealing with shortages of two chemotherapies.
