7-6-23 train derailment in dodge county remains under investigation

REESEVILLE, Wis. (AP) — Investigators are looking into what caused a freight train to derail outside a small village in south-central Wisconsin. The train derailed just west of the village of Reeseville in Dodge County around 2 p.m. Tuesday. Nearly 30 cars crashed, spilling grain and potash. No one was hurt. 7-5-23 fox valley vehicle theft ring busted

Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the theft of vehicles and vehicle entries in Dodge, Fond du Lac, Winnebago and Outagamie Counties.  Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt says in Dodge County the thefts occurred in the northeastern part of  the county along Highway 175.   Following a coordinated investigation the suspected leader of the theft ring  was arrested in Fond du Lac County, and two other suspects were arrested in the Fox Valley.   Schmidt […]

7-5-23 careless use of smoking materials blamed for mattress fire in dodge county

Careless use of smoking materials are being blamed for a fire that caused minor damage to a home in Dodge County.   Saturday morning Waupun firefighters were called to a residence on Redwood Road and found a mattress and blanket smoldering in a bedroom.  The mattress was removed from the home and the fire was extinguished.  The home received smoke damage.  Nobody was hurt.

An Oshkosh man was arrested following a high speed chase in Fond du Lac County.  The chase started early Saturday morning when a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for a speeding over 120 miles an hour on southbound Interstate 41 at County Hwy Y in the town of Byron.  The vehicle exited  at State Highway 49 in Dodge County,   reentered Fond du Lac County  on Drumline Drive where […]

7-5-23 mobile home fire

Nobody was injured in a mobile home fire in Fond du Lac.  Shortly after 9pm Friday firefighters were called to the scene on Van Dyne Road and quickly extinguished the fire in an area near an electrical outlet.  Fire damage was limited to that area.  Investigators determined faulty wiring and an overloaded outlet caused the f ire.
