8-21-23 wisconsin unemployment rate rises in july

Wisconsin’s unemployment rate is up slightly in July.   The state Department of Workforce Development say the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 2.6 percent in July, up from a record low of 2.4 percent in April and May.  Wisconsin’s total nonfarm jobs hit a new high of three million, seven-thousand-200, an increase of 4,700 over the previous month.  The national unemployment rate was 3.5 percent last month.
