Most likely you know someone struggling with addiction. But maybe you don’t know how to help or where to go. The Fond du Lac County Health Department is teaming up with Community Medical Services and Wisconsin Voices for Recovery in hosting a Stigma Awareness event in raising awareness on stigma and the barriers it creates to individuals seeking recovery. Fond du Lac County Health Educator Raine Bleecker says there are several treatment and recovery resources available locally. The Stigma Awareness event will be held from 3pm to 7pm Thursday, at the Lakeside Park Pavilion. Since 2020, more than 80 Fond du Lac County residents have died from drug overdoses.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
