A tight inventory continues to push Wisconsin home sales down and prices up. The Wisconsin REALTORS® Association released its July 2023 Real Estate Report Thursday. Weak inventories continue to limit sales of existing homes and drive prices up significantly. July 2023 closings slid 20.8% compared to July 2022, and the median price rose 7.5% to $300,000. This was the second straight month where the statewide median price was at or above the $300,000 mark. Meanwhile, mortgage rates continue to rise – adding to the challenges for some buyers.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
