Nobody was injured in a fire that heavily damaged a Fond du Lac home. Shortly before 7pm Tuesday firefighters were called to the scene at 129 West Scott Street and quickly knocked down the fire. Nobody was home but two pets died. The cause of the fire is under investigation and the Red Cross is assisting the family.

The Fond du Lac School District is implementing a new employee wellness program. Superintendent Dr. Jeff Fleig says LeapCare is an employee emotional well-being program. Under the program a Care coach provides emotional care to the 850 employees of the Fond du Lac School District. Dr. Fleig says the hope is that LeapCare will lead to higher levels of employee wellness.
A jury trial has been scheduled for next spring to determine whether the so-called Halloween Killer, Gerald Turner, should be released or remain in custody. A Fond du Lac restaurant damaged by fire has reopened for business. Boda's restaurant on East Pioneer Road reopened for business Tuesday morning. Last Friday evening firefighters were called to a report of smoke in the basement and smoke detectors sounding at the restaurant and arrived to find the fire had self-extinguished in a closed mechanical room.
