A Lomira man has died from injuries following a motorcycle vs car crash in Fond du Lac County. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office says 75 year old James Bauer of Lomira died Wednesday at Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee. The crash happened about 5pm Tuesday on Highway 49 west of Church Road. A car waiting to make a turn into Tom Dooley Apple Orchard was struck by the motorcycle. The car driver and passenger were not injured. Inattentive driving is believed to be a factor in the crash.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
