The Fond du Lac School District is looking for a new athletic director. Arik Gunderson is resigning to accept an administrative position in Columbus, Wisconsin. Gunderson is leaving after 12 years in the school district, serving as athletic director for a little more than a year. The school board has hired former Kewaskum School District superintendent, James Smasal, to serve as interim athletic director for the remainder of the school year. Meanwhile, yhe school board has hired Randal Johnston as the interim director of Facility Services and Safety for the remainder of the school year. He most recently served in that capacity for the Elmbrook School District. He replaces John Williams who is retiring at the end of the year after 38 years in the school district.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
