A new government report shows fewer high school studentsare vaping. About 10 percent of high school students said they had used electronic cigarettes in the previous month. That’s down from 14 percent from the same survey conducted last year. East Central Alliance for Nicotine Prevention Control program assistant Lara Nikiekski says fewer high school students are vaping in Wisconsin and Fond du lac County as well. However Nikielski says another concern is that locally the number of middle school students are vaping more, and she says a lot of students locally are also getting expelled from school for habitual vaping. Fewer high school students also smoke cigarettes and cigars. The report was released last week by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The CDC considers the annual survey its best measure of youth smoking trends.
