A Fond du Lac man has been convicted in a fentanyl overdose death. A Fond du Lac jury convicted Eugene Jackson is charged with First Degree Reckless Homicide and Manufacture-Delivery of Fentanyl. Jackson was convicted in connection with a drug overdose death in the village of North Fond du Lac in September 2022. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and a sentencing hearing will be scheduled. The charges carry a maximum possible sentence of 45 years in prison and 25 years of extended supervision.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
