12-21-23 dodge county deer farm depopulated after deer test positive for cwd

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection confirms that a  Dodge County deer farm that tested positive for chronic wasting disease  in May has been depopulated.  Of the 172 animals depopulated, 23 tested positive for the disease.  In total, there were 26 positive cases of CWD.  Three deer had died prior to depopulation. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Excessive compliance costs have forced Wisconsin regulators to stop developing groundwater standards on PFAS chemicals. Gov. The Fond du Lac School District has established enrollment dates for 5-year-old Kindergarten students attending the 2024-25 school year. Enrollment will begin on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, and will run through Friday, January 19, 2024.   During the week of January 16, parents and guardians of prospective kindergartners can enroll their child between 9a-2:30p in person. 12-20-23 fire damages fdl home

Nobody was seriously injured following a fire that damaged a Fond du Lac home.  Shortly after 7pm Tuesday firefighters were called to 369 North Street and quickly knocked down the fire but not before flames caused heavy damage in the kitchen and smoke damage throughout the house. One person was treated at the scene.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

12-20-23 fdl man sentenced to prison for stabbing outside press box tavern

A Fond du Lac man convicted  in  connection with a stabbing incident outside a Fond du Lac tavern is going to prison.  Fond du Lac County Circuit judge Tricia Walker  sentenced 32 year old Vickendricka Jones to 19 years in prison followed by 20 years extended supervision.  In August Jones  pleaded no contest to attempted  first degree intentional  homicide.  Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney says the stabbing occured outside the […]

12-20-23 new fdl county sheriff’s office crisis social worker k9 sworn into office

A swearing in ceremony was held Tuesday afternoon for a new K9 officer in the Fond du Lac County Sheriff's  Office.  Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt held K9 Josie's right paw as he administered the oath of office.  The purebred black lab is working alongside crisis social worker Sheila Seaborg.  "Josie is very helpful.  She can do in two minutes what takes us an hour sometimes,"  Seaborg told WFDL news.  "When people see […]
