12-14-23 appleton man arrested following high speed chase in fdl county

An Appleton man is in custody following a high speed chase in Fond du Lac County.  The chase started shortly after 12:30am Thursday when a sheriff's deputy attempted to  stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on northbound Interstate 41 at Johnson Street.  The chase continued eastbound on Johnson Street at a high rate of speed and was terminated after the deputy got a license plate.  Fond du Lac police later located the vehicle near […]

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Supreme Court on Wednesday declined to hear a lawsuit brought by Democrats seeking to end the state's taxpayer-funded private school voucher program.  The lawsuit could be refiled in county circuit court, as both Democratic Gov. Tony Evers' administration and Republican Assembly Speaker Robin Vos had argued. MADISON, Wis. Seven people have taken out papers to run for four open seats on the Fond du Lac city council.  Incumbents, Brett Zimmerman, Tom Schuessler, and Jane Ricchio are up for reelection.  Incumbent Ken Cassaday is not running for reelection.    Challengers Antonio Godfrey, Angela Luehring, John Webb and Brad Leonhard have taken out nomination papers.  The deadline to file nomination papers to run in the April election is 5pm Tuesday January 2nd.
