The local  unemployment rate was down in the latest reporting period.  The Dodge County unemployment rate dipped a tenth of a percent to 2.4 percent in November.  The Fond du Lac County rate fell three-tenths of a percent to 2.3 percent.  In the city of Fond du Lac the unemployment rate in November  was 2.7 percent, down from three percent in October.

The Fond du Lac Public Library’s east-side branch closed Sunday, Dec. 31, but it will reopen again soon.  The Allen J. Buechel Branch, found in the Festival Foods plaza, will move from its current space on the far northwest corner of the plaza to a new storefront closer to the entrance of the grocery store.   The branch will close for a few weeks during the transition, starting Jan. 1, 2024.  […]

A Janesville man is in custody following a high speed chase in Dodge county.   The chase started shortly after 10 pm New Year’s eve in Jefferson County and continued  on Highway 26 in Dodge county with speeds up to 110 miles an hour.
