Wisconsin's unemployment rate held steady last month. Wisconsin's total nonfarm jobs hit a record high of just over three million during the month, an increase of 4,800 over the previous month.  Wisconsin's unemployment rate held steady at 3.3% in December, remaining 0.4% lower than the national unemployment rate, which was 3.7%.   The labor force increased by 2,200 workers over the month, and employment also increased by 1,700 over the month.  The state's total labor force […]

1-22-24 oshkosh man convicted in fatal alcohol related crash in fdl county

An Oshkosh man has been convicted  in connection  with a fatal alcohol-related crash in Fond du Lac County.   Fifty-seven year-old Brian Sippel has pleaded no contest to homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle.  Investigators say Sippel was intoxicated when he struck a vehicle that was stopped at a traffic signal on the Highway 151  Bypass at Interstate 41.  A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and a  sentencing hearing is scheduled for June […]

Nobody was injured in a fire that destroyed a barn in Fond du Lac County.
