A Fond du Lac man has been convicted in connection with a fatal crash nearly two years ago. Adam Richardson has pleaded no contest two counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle with a prohibited alcohol concentration. The charge carries a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison and 20 years extended supervision. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for April 29. The crash happened February 26, 2022 on Highway 151 near County Highway WH. Two passengers, a 41 year old Fond du Lac man and a 34 year old Fond du lac woman were killed when the car left the highway and struck a tree. Investigators say speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
