Longtime Fond du Lac Convention and Visitors Bureau director JoAnn Ward has died.   Her daughter , Cynthia Ward Cusack,  posted on Facebook that Ward died over the weekend at her home in Naples, Florida.   Destination Lake Winnebago Region executive director Craig Molitor says Ward was responsible for launching Walleye Weekend in 1978 in conjunction with the Mercury Marine National Walleye Fishing tournament.  " She was a hero of mine.  She […]

Nobody was injured in a fire that significantly damaged a Waupun home.   Shortly after 8:30am Tuesday firefighters were called to the Tom Sauer home at 701 Brandon Street to find smoke coming from the roof and second floor windows.   Fire crews were on the scene for more than two hours.  The fire caused significant damage to the second floor and smoke and water damage throughout the house.   The house is uninhabitable and […]

Nobody was injured in a fire at a assisted living facility in Waupun. Shortly before 7pm Monday firefighters were called to Prairie Ridge Assisted Living for a report of a fire in an outlet.
