2-6-24 victim of fatal head on collision in fdl county identified

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office has identified the person killed in a head on collision in Fond du Lac County last week.  Fifty three year old Steven Heckmann of Newtown, Wisconsin was killed when his pickup truck crossed the center line on Kiel Road near Schoenborn Road striking an eastbound semi-tractor trailer head on.  The semi driver, 62-year-old Gerald Lusk of Menasha, received  minor injuries.   The highway was closed for approximately five […]

A new AAA study reveals fatal roadside worker crashes are a bigger problem than previously believed.  AAA Foundation researchers found that roadside assistance providers including tow truck drivers, mobile mechanics, emergency roadside technicians, and safety service patrols, were struck and killed nearly four times more than reported.  State AAA spokesman Nick Jarmusz says the research reveals that vehicle collisions with roadside workers are not always the result of poor visibility.  Jarmusz says more often […]

2-5-24 dodge county sheriff’s office looking for huber walkaway

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a Huber inmate walkaway.  According to the Sheriff's Office 43  year old Jennifer Patricia Petersen, left the jail  for a doctor's appointment at Marshfield Medical Center in Beaver Dam, but  failed to report back to jail.   Petersen was picked up for the appointment by an approved driver, Matthew Reszel, 46, of Milwaukee, in a red, 2007 Ford Edge with Wisconsin plate AJA2190.
