Nobody was injured and a Green Bay man is in custody following a high speed chase in Fond du Lac County. The chase started shortly after 2am Friday when a sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a speeding vehicle on northbound Interstate 41 at Hwy 151 in the town of Fond du Lac. The vehicle continued northbound on 41, took the Hickory Street exit, got back onto Highway 41 northbound. The vehicle ran over stop sticks placed on the Interstate and the chase ended when the vehicle exited at County Highway N, struck a median and ditch. The driver fled on foot, and was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit. A 22 year old Green Bay man was arrested and faces multiple charges. He is currently on probation for Vehicle Operator Flee and Elude Officers and has prior criminal convictions for Disorderly Conduct, Operating Without a Valid License, and Vehicle Operator Flee and Elude Officers. Deputies located illegal drug contraband during a search of the vehicle. A sheriff’s squad car and semi truck inadvertently struck the tire deflation device and received flat tires.
