There are a couple of new faces on the Fond du Lac city council. Incumbent Brett Zimmerman was the top vote getter in the spring election, followed by incumbent Tom Schuessler. Challengers Angela Luehring and Antonio Godfrey were also elected. Incumbent Fond du Lac county board supervisor Karen Madigan was reelected in District 3 and challenger Tom Herlache defeated incumbent county board supervisor John Zorn in District 19. David Schry, Melissa Bink and Adam Puetz were elected to the St. Cloud Village Board. Richard Volbrecht was elected to the Brandon Village Board. Town of Waupun residents voted in favor of a referendum asking if the town Treasurer should be appointed. In Mayville, Rob Boelk defeated John Guinn in the race for mayor.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
