4-30-24 thousands of women not receiving recommended mammograms

Thousands of women between ages 50 and 74 are not receiving life-saving mammograms,  according to new federal data.   Researchers from the CDC found about one-third of socially vulnerable women are missing recommended mammograms.  Radiologist Dr. Steve Falkner with Radiology Associates of the Fox Valley says in Fond du Lac annual mammograms are generally very accessible, easy to obtain and very affordable, regardless of whether a woman has insurance.   Dr. Falkner says mammogram screenings are […]

4-30-24 owner of popular theresa candy store says it could be weeks before shop is able to reopen

The owner of a popular candy store damaged by fire says it could be several weeks before the store reopens.    Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire early last Wednesday morning at Confections for Any Occasions by Joel, but not before it cause significant damage.  Owner Joe Bernhard says the fire started in a window air conditioner.  He says the mystery is that the air conditioner was plugged in, but not turned on.   Bernhard […]

The City Council has approved a No or Low Mow May for 2024. The initiative behind the program is to increase the habitat for bees and other pollinators. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center will be testing the County wide tornado sirens on Tuesday April 30 at noon. The test will be canceled if inclement weather is forecasted. If Fond du Lac County residents hear the tornado sirens Tuesday at noon, please remember there is no emergency.
