The North Fond du Lac police chief says a strong armed robbery in the village last week apparently stemmed from an argument over illegal drugs. A Waukesha man told officers he was attacked Monday night, April 29th, in the area of Polk Street and Audrey Court. Police Chief Pete Vergos says it turns out the suspect is the victim’s cousin. Vergos says the victim received substantial injuries. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call North Fond du Lac police.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
