A Fond du Lac man who was assisting with cable repairs caused by a tornado last week in Door County was killed after reportedly making contact with a power line. According to the Washington Island Police Department first responders were called Saturday morning for a report of an electrocution. Officers say 27 year old James C. Terrill of Fond du Lac, was assisting with cable repairs caused by a tornado that touched down “the night before.” Lifesaving measures were unsuccessful and Terrill died at the scene.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
