The Department of Public Works would like inform the motoring public of the 2-day closure of North Marr Street at Merrill Avenue. The closure will be in place Thursday, June 6 and remain closed until the end of day Friday, June 7. The closure will be in place to allow the utility contractor to install storm sewer in combination with the Marquette Street reconstruction project. The traffic detour is westbound on Division Street to northbound Main Street.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
