The Department of Public Works would like inform the motoring public of the 2-week closure of N. Park Avenue at Ledgeview Avenue. The closure will be in place Tuesday, June 11 and remain closed for at least 2 weeks. The closure will be in place to allow the utility contractor to install sanitary and storm sewer in combination with concrete pavement restoration on N. Park Avenue. The Northbound traffic detour is Eastbound on E. Division Street to Northbound on National Avenue to Westbound on E. Johnson Street. The Southbound traffic detour is Eastbound on E. Johnson Street to Southbound on National Avenue to Westbound on E. Division Street.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
