8-6-24 inmate found dead at waupun prison

The Dodge County Sheriff's Office with cooperation from the state Department of Corrections is investigating another inmate death at the Waupun Correctional Institution.  Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt says shortly before 7:30am Monday the Sheriff's Office was contacted by the prison regarding an inmate death.  Schmidt says an initial investigation indicates this was likely a self-inflicted incident.  Sources tell WFDL news an inmate was found hanging in his south cell […]

8-5-24 manitowoc man arrested following high speed chase in fdl county

A 26 year old Manitowoc man is in custody following a high speed chase in Fond du Lac County over the weekend. The chase started shortly before 1pm Sunday on Highway 23 near County Highway UU reaching speeds close to 130 miles an hour. The chase ended when the driver drove down a dead end road on Richards Road into the backyard of a residence and the driver was arrested.

8-5-24 firefighters battle barn fire on lone elm road

Nobody was injured in a fire that destroyed two barns in Fond du Lac County. Firefighters from 15 area departments were called to the scene on Lone Elm Road around 1am Saturday to find a barn fully engulfed in flames. The feed in two nearby silos was also on fire.  A conveyor belt in the barn may be the cause of the fire which remains under investigation.
