Groundbreaking ceremonies will be held Wednesday for a new music stage at the Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds. The ceremony will be held at 5pm Wednesday. The National Exchange Bank Foundation is donating $300,000 for naming rights for the new stage. The city of Fond du Lac contributing $375,000 for construction of the stage with the county picking up the bulk of the cost. Construction is expected to be completed before the end of the year.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
