9-6-24 Fentanyl Overdose Conviction

A second defendant has been convicted in the fentanyl overdose death of a Ripon man. Joseph Schmidt-Rehbein has pled no contest to First Degree Reckless Homicide for his role in the April 2023 overdose death. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for December 20. Co-defendant Maison Springston pled guilty last month , and three others are also charged in the case.

9-6-24 sheboygan man sentenced to prison for threatening judge

A Sheboygan man is going to prison for threatening a judge. Alfred Lee Hudson was sentenced to one year in prison and three years extended supervision. Hudson earlier was convicted of one count of Threat to an Officer of the Court after leaving a threatening voicemail message for a judge. Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney served as a special prosecutor in the case.

9-6-24 boil water advisory lifted in st. cloud

A boil water advisory has been lifted in the village of St. Cloud.  The advisory was issued earlier this week after an equipment malfunction resulted in a loss of pressure in the water system.  Fond du Lac County Emergency Management director John Ross says the issue was corrected and there was  no known water contamination but the advisory was issued  as a precaution.

9-6-24 convicted child sex offender released from custody…living in brownsville

A convicted child sex offender is being released from custody and is residing in the Dodge County town of LeRoy.  Sheriff Dale Schmidt says Garon Leitzke is a Chapter 980 sex offender and is now living at a residence on state Highway 49 in Brownsville.  Schmidt says he objected to the location where Leitzke is being placed.  Schmidt says the Sheriff's Office will increase its presence in the area.  He adds […]

9-6-24 semi trailer fire

Nobody was injured in a semi fire in Fond du Lac. Shortly after 6pm Wednesday firefighters quickly extinguished the fire in a semi trailer hauling 42,000 pounds of pecans. Southbound Interstate 41 and Rolling Meadows Drive were shut down for a short period of time while crews extinguished the fire.
