11-1-24 bomb threat hoax investigation-the latest

The investigation into a bomb threat hoax at a Fond du Lac school this week continues.  Police captain Rob Duveneck says investigators are trying to determine who wrote the threat on a bathroom wall at the STEM Academy.   Duveneck says even though the threat turned out to be unfounded police take all school threats seriously and respond accordingly.  He says a student did the right thing by telling a custodian.  "If you see something, […]

11-1-24 usda, datcp award $3.1 million to projects that strengthen food supply chain infrastructure

MADISON, Wis. – The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) announced it has partnered with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) to award $3.1 million for 41 projects through the Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure Program (RFSI) to strengthen local and regional food systems.  Through this program, DATCP will fund 41 projects with Equipment Grants to support middle of the supply chain infrastructure. 10-31-24 basement fire quickly extinguished

Nobody was injured in a basement fire in Fond du Lac County. Shortly after 8pm Wednesday firefighters were called to a residence on Main Street in the village of Fairwater and quickly extinguished the fire before it was able to spread beyond the basement wall. The fire is believed to have started in an exterior outlet and is not considered suspicious.
