10-22-24 interstate 41 project in fdl county starts this week

A major reconstruction project on Interstate 41 in Fond du Lac and Winnebago counties is underway. The nearly $26 million year-long project covers more than 14 miles from County Highway D in Fond du Lac County to Highway 26 in Winnebago County.  I-41 will remain open during the project with lane closures during off-peak and nighttime hours.  According to the DOT, the project will include paving and structure maintenance on 10 bridges, construction of a new box culvert, nine box culvert extensions,  culvert pipe work, slope grading, restoration, beam guard replacement, cable guard replacement, shouldering and pavement marking.  More information is available on the DOT  511 construction website.
