10-28-24 waupun prison security director accepts demotion

WFDL news has learned the Security Director at the Waupun Correctional Institution is stepping down from the post.  In an email to staff, obtained by WFDL news,  Yanah Pusich said she had accepted a demotion to a supervising officer position effective November 17th.  According to the email Pusich said “The decision was not made lightly”  and said she recognizes it  “may have an impact on the institution’s operations, at least temporarily. ”   The announcement comes several months after nine staff members were criminally charged in connection with the deaths of inmates at the Waupun prison.
