Five people died in a fiery vehicle crash in Wisconsin, authorities said Saturday.  The Dane County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that the vehicle crashed into a tree Friday night off a roadway just south of Verona, a town about 11 miles (18 kilometers) southwest of Madison.  The vehicle caught fire and all five occupants were pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff’s office said.   Authorities have not released their names and […]

A Fond du Lac County based non-profit organization that assists women in recovery from substance abuse and trauma is closing.   Mahala's Hope president Rhiannon Diederichs  says  "It is with deep regret the decision to cease operations and close permanently."   Diederichs says the organization has faced location challenges  that have made it impossible to keep operations running.   Since it's inception Mahala's Hope has served 248 women, affecting 280 minor children across several Wisconsin counties.  The […]

A Fond du Lac Street will be closed for a couple of days this week.  East Division Street between Park Avenue and Champion Street will be closed beginning Thursday, November 7 at 7:00 am and remain closed until end of day Friday, November 8. The closure will be in place to allow for water utility repairs and pavement restoration.
