11-21-24 marquette university names new president

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Marquette University officials announced Wednesday that Kimo Ah Yun will serve as the school's next president.  Ah Yun had served as acting president since June, when President Michael Lovell died in Rome after a three-year battle with cancer.  Ah Yun becomes only the second lay person to serve as the Jesuit university's president. 11-21-24 little change in local unemployment rate

There was no significant change in the local unemployment rate last month.   The city of Fond du Lac's unemployment rate inched up a tenth of a percent in October to 2.9 percent.  The Fond du Lac County jobless rate stood at 2.3 percent, down a tenth of a percent.  The Dodge County unemployment rate also dropped slightly from 2.3 to 2.2 percent.

An Eden man arrested this week following a high speed chase in Fond du Lac and Winnebago counties was on parole for armed robbery.  Sheriff's captain Chris Randall says the chase started Monday morning in the village of North Fond du Lac when sheriff's deputies attempted to stop a vehicle operated by a man wanted on a felony warrant.  The pursuit continued north at speeds up to 100 miles an hour, and then ended […]
