The Wisconsin Department of Justice has released the name of the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputy involved in a deadly shooting last month in the town of Fond du Lac.  According to a DOJ press release on February 24 deputy Andrew Kohlman shot and killed 26 year old Armando Mendez Berry while serving a search warrant on Cherrywood Drive.   According to the release Berry refused repeated commands and one deputy discharged a non-lethal weapon.  When Berry produced what deputies believed was a gun, deputy Kohlman shot the suspect who was later pronounced dead at a hospital.  The suspect’s gun turned out to be a bb gun.   Deputy Kohlman remains on administrative leave while the DOJ Division of Criminal investigation continues it’s investigation.
