MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Republican Party is accusing Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke of being a hypocrite for saying she wants to outlaw campaign donations from outside the state. GOP executive director Joe Fadness says Burke is a hypocrite because she got roughly $1.1 million in donations this year from outside Wisconsin. Burke’s spokesman Joe Zepecki says Burke’s opposition to outside money was an opinion shared by “roughly 100 percent of people with a pulse.”

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
