The Department of Public Works would like to inform the public the partial closure of the Promen Drive Arch Bridge east of the Lakeside Park Pavilion. The partial closure will begin Tuesday, July 29th at 5:00 am and will remain closed approximately one week. Repairs to the bridge will be done between the hours of 5:00 am and 1:30 pm, to minimize traffic using the bridge. The north lane of the bridge will be closed during bridge repair work hours, however two-way traffic will be allowed alternating use of the single remaining lane; flagmen will not be provided. Promen Drive will re-open to normal traffic daily after 1:30 pm and throughout the weekend.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
