Fond du lac police are investigating a shooting incident but the victim isn’t cooperating. Assistant police chief Steve Klein says nobody was injured. Klein says a man entered the Speedway gas station on West Johnson Street early Thursday morning and told the clerk someone had tried to shoot him. “Officers arrived and spoke with the male subject. He was not injured,” Klein said. “He stated he had been shot at somewhere in a couple block radius of the gas station.” Klein says police found evidence that shots were indeed fired…but says the victim isn’t providing much information. “The victim was not very cooperative with officers and would not provide a lot of information or details,” Klein said. “We did locate some evidence in the 100 block of North Butler Street. We do believe there were some shots that were fired.” Anyone with information is asked to call Fond du lac police at 906-5555.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
