9-11-14 audobon society -global warming impact study

A new National Audobon Society report says climate change threatens the survival of nearly half the bird species in the continental United States and Canada including many of Wisconsin’s birds.  Director of the Madison Audobon Society Matt Reetz tells WFDL news local birds at risk include the sharp-tailed grouse, mallard and common loon.  Reetz says the study shows while some species will be able to adapt to shifting climates, many of North America’s most familiar and iconic species will not.
